ABOUT

I deal in my paintings and poems (in Hebrew & English) with the subjects of our fragile planet ecology, society injustice, and the quest for peace.

In my paintings, one can find wildlife in danger of extinction, Africa and all its problems.

Migrating birds are an inspiration and metaphor for peace without borders.

A New painful subject is #METOO and the murder of women by their spouses or a member of family.

Fugitives. Occupation and Apartheid

I use mixed media techniques, transparent and opaque, mainly on paper.I tilt the paper and  streams of spontaneous running paint cages a blurred deer, rudely trod upon by my sole. An elephant with a broken task appears out of chaos. An abused nude body of a woman, head covered with a leaf of a fig tree, and a knife and fork beside her.

FOLLY WARS

Migrating birds,

from north to south and back,

season after season,

millions of miles.

Each flap of wings

supports the bird behind.

Mysterious migration,

Following a map of stars at night,

the sun's compass during daylight.

No fuel, no flag, no borders, No God.

Caressing the planet

fraternity of feathers.

Fugitives of hunger and frost,

not folly wars.

If only, if only

I had wings of a bird,

I might from a green treetop see

Peace.

How would you describe your work to someone seeing it for the first time?

You can meet in my paintings mainly on paper very freely ,wild animals and birds. Most of them painted freely on paper.

A gazelle appears out of chaos of stains, locked in spontaneous thin streams of dilute acrylic paint. The streams are created by tilting the paper .An elephant with one broken task is rudely trod upon with my crocks smeared with red paint. Lions, hedgehogs ,all in connection of extinction.

Migrating birds with which I am fascinated, are moving on many of papers. Flying, landing, courting. On the thin streams of paint, you will also find the signs of barbed wires ,or my red crocks that conquers their free nature place.

A naked woman's body, bruised violently, head covered with a leaf of fig, and a blooded fork and knife beside her. Murdered by one of her family.

There is a group of paintings based on African masks describing pain combined with the map of Africa.

Series of photopainting made during covid 19, dealing in the circle of life. Green leaves, flowers fruits and seeds together with the DNA FOUR BASES that are the same for all the sorts of  life on our planet.

Another serials of photopainting  and haiku about occupation and apartheid.

What and which artists have influenced your work?

The French impressionists' painters E. Monet.  P. Cézanne,

Japanese  and Chinese minimalistic paintings.
